Window Safari

Trophy

Series

All ten windows are from the ground-floor in various different apartments in Aarhus’ city center. They all represent different approaches to the inevitable relation between the private home and the public life passing by outside. The window becomes somewhat a passive link between the private and the public sphere. Passive in the meaning that it’s a not door you can physically go through, it’s function lies in airing and letting light inside the home. And providing a visual link to the world outside. Windows very quickly reveals the owner who lives behinds them. Is the window some kind of exhibiting place where everything is neatly placed and colour-coordinated? Is it open or not? Is it covered in pretty curtains or carelessly patched with whatever was at hand? Does it communicate: “I love my home” or “none of your business” ?
